The other day I was chatting with my business coach and he dropped a pearler.

We were talking about the fact there are three roles we play as business owners…

The CEO, the Manager and the technician.

Then he said…

When you’re stressed, you tend to go into the technician.

Interesting.

Being stressed makes me a LESS effective business owner.

I’ve also been reading through, slowly, a book called the End of Stress. And in there, he refers to a number of factors which
make stress bad for our productivity, health, etc.

There’s real research on this.

Anyway, here’s what I’ve been doing to try and manage it, which I picked up from the book.

Several times a day, I’ll check in with myself.

I’ll see how I am feeling.

Notice the negative emotions.

And then say to myself…

“I can choose peace instead of this”

Then I recap three core focuses:

1. Unhurriedness
2. Trust the process
3. Enjoy the challenge

Then I breathe.

And finally, I ask… what is my gut, my intuition trying to tell me right now.

Anyway, feel free to take this and use it for yourself because business isn’t just about the tactics and strategies… it’s
about managing your mind, body and emotions so you can be operating like a Ferrari instead of a bet up old jalopy.
