The Tortoise And The Hare Moral

The other day one of my coaches said to me:

“You know what your problem is Scott, you think too fast.”

Then he followed up with:

“And if you think that’s a good thing, it’s not.”

It got me thinking about the whole hare and the tortoise concept.

The hare is always in a rush. He’s anxious. He’s searching for today’s
breadcrumbs.

But metaphorically, the tortoise is very different.

He’s planting oak seeds.

I’ve realised that for most of my business life I’ve been the hare.

Until I met my friend Nik Thakorlal. And then Terry Ogburn, I was really
more of a freelancer.

In the past 6 months I’ve started running a business, and they are
very, very, very different things.

And that to really build a business, you need to be the hare.

And you need to methodically do the important / not urgent tasks today
to avoid the important / urgent tasks tomorrow.

How about you?

How could you benefit from embracing the tortoise?
